About

In ’99, I got into dance music and it turned my world upside down. I snagged myself a pair of decks, moved to NYC, and started DJing. In the years that followed, the twists and turns of this crazy journey began…

Everything about the club scene sucked me in.

Dirty beats pumping in dark, gritty rooms. The euphoric rush that you never thought would end. Spilling your deepest secrets to a stranger as the sun came up…

It wasn’t long before I fell into the dark side of the scene. Shady promoters, ruthless competition, sleazy dudes, catty bitches, and, oh yeah– the drugs. I became worn, self-destructive, and depressed…

I got jaded.

In 2006, everything came crashing down and I hit rock bottom. I escaped to Seattle to detox from all the drama and focus on music and writing… and that’s where I met m.0.

A gifted musician and performer that had also become jaded with the scene, his experiences eerily mirrored mine. He left San Francisco for the same reasons I left New York, and through our connection we’ve inspired each other to create something out of the madness. Our amazing friendship and marathon nerding sessions at Command Central® made the blog and our new media collaboration, Nerd Revolt, begin to take form.

Here, you’ll find our club scene war stories (“Confessions”) and get a glimpse into the world of our alter ego superheroes (“Jaded Chronicles”). “Media Feed” is our creative playground where we explore the visual realm, cranking out bits of multidimensional goodness for your brain. Check out the “Beat Reporter” section, which documents these 2 cyborgs’ observations on all the things humans do on this planet.

After moving NR headquarters to San Francisco in late ’09, dejaded has started taking on new dimensions. Driven by a strong sense of our mission, our faith in the vision is more solid than ever. There’s so much superficiality, egos, and hidden agendas corrupting dance music, but we refuse to accept it as the way it should be. The cure? A heavy dose of honesty, rawness, and inspiration.

The dance music scene is where we learned some hard life lessons, confronted our deepest fears and insecurities, and eventually self-destructed. We were destined to meet along the path and build something out of it– purging toxic people and situations from our lives, so we could embrace who we truly are and inspire others. Dance music was the starting point for NR, but we’re moving on to the bigger picture– creating art to uplift people.

This is our way of taking the negativity that’s dragged us down and putting something positive out there. It’s our way of connecting with anyone that feels like the club scene (or just human) evils are winning, and letting them know that there’s a way out…

This is our way of becoming dejaded.
