If we weren’t busy loading up a U-Haul right now, we’d tell you how misty we are about leaving Seattle. It’s been an amazing experience for both of us, and we’re coming out of this phase completely transformed and inspired. We’re ecstatic about starting the next chapter in the world of Nerd Revolt.
Of course, we’ll keep you guys posted every step of the way!
The other week, I took a trip out to the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Hiking through a temperate rainforest and checking out an amazing sunset on the coast was epic!
On my way back, I spotted a pumpkin patch along the road. Being a city girl at heart, the countryside’s always been an abstract concept to me. The only farms I’ve ever seen have been through a tour bus window. I decided it was time to pop my rural cherry and visit my first one!

I’d never seen pumpkins in their natural habitat before. They were everywhere!

This was a nice sight to see before my move to San Francisco…

Believing in my dreams is the first step. The next one is to turn them into reality…

…but first things first. I was on a mission to find the perfect pumpkin to bring home.

Look at the little baby pumpkin!

I found this adorable one that was still on the vine…

…but noticed he had all these weird, ugly bumps on him.

I almost put him back and searched for another one…

…but then I realized how silly that was. We all have our quirks, scars, and flaws. Our beauty exists not in spite of these things, but in part because of them.
In honor of his cute little bumps, I named him Barnacles. Cutest freaking pumpkin ever.

Happy Halloween from the whole crew at Command Central®!
A couple months ago, Baby Virus’ mod wheel stopped working. This sent the iLL into a spiral of panic attacks, but luckily our fellow nerds at Access pointed us to the best doctor in town.
After busting ass all summer at Command Central® and rocking a few shows, Baby Virus morphed into an über-synth this year! Without him in the studio for 2 weeks, The Great just wasn’t the same.

Keith, a Board Certified Synth Surgeon, was the mad scientist who pulled off the surgery. Turns out the wheel block (that has the mod and pitch wheels) was fine, but Baby V’s cabling needed to be tightened up. As someone who’s tinkered inside machines since he was 15, Keith’s as passionate about these creatures as we are. As he said, “They’re intelligent beings.”

When iLL came back to the hospital (aka Condor Electronics), she wanted to make sure Baby was all fixed up (much to his embarrassment– she’s been quite the overbearing cyborg mother). She plugged him in and could hardly contain her giddiness when the mod wheel burst into beautiful symphonies of cutoff, delay, and noise…

Keith even hooked up his pitch wheel with a bit of lube. We’d say that made the iLL excited, but that would be slightly creepy.
Baby’s back and more badass than ever!
Now he can continue what he was doing…
Prepare for world domination.

We’re now hitting the mid-October mark, and our EP is entering the final stretch! The arrangements are in place, and we’re now deep in mix mode. We’re moving at warp speed and are almost done mixing down the first track, “Insomnia”.
The NR collaboration keeps taking on new dimensions. Getting ready for the next chapter!
Alright, y’all— it’s about that time. We’re wrapping up the arrangements for our EP, the artwork’s getting started, and our dual mixdown showdown is about to begin.
Nerd Revolt would like to announce the name of our upcoming EP:
Haze of introspection…and sh*t.
So put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

Happy October! We’re in the final stages of NR: The Seattle Chapter, and are busy getting ready to make our nerd exodus. Off to San Francisco (aka The Motherland)!
This multi-track transition finds us up to our alien ears with to-do lists (we’re currently mastering the art of GSD– Getting Shit Done)… but the most exciting thing is that our EP is wrapping up!
After plugging away on it between shows all summer, we’re getting close to the finish line. Song titles? Check. Arrangements? 90% there. Ready for mixing? Hell yeah! It’ll be our first joint mix project, and the recent grey weather (and lots of bomb local coffee) will get us in the zone.
Here’s a bit of SF eye candy for ya (courtesy of m.0). Now, back to the studio!
